VAK e.V., the Municipal Vehicles and Equipment Industry Association, presented an innovation award for municipal vehicles and equipment for the first time on the occasion of the IFAT 2016. At the award ceremony on the second day of the trade fair, the 17 nominated companies, among them Schmidt from St. Blasien, were eager with excitement. The patent-pending combination of pressurised water recirculation and Koanda air circulation system of the Swingo 200+ convinced the panel of judges consisting of members of user associations as well as press and university representatives.
For the staff members of the City Cleaning Department of Abfallwirtschaft Region Hannover (Hanover Waste Management Association), aha for short, the working day starts early. Very early. While many inhabitants of the capital of Lower Saxony are fast asleep, there is already a lot of hustle and bustle at the six locations all over the city. One sweeper after the other leaves the depots with their drivers. About 260 colleagues ensure clean and safe roads in Hanover using sweepers or winter service vehicles – among them a number of Schmidt Swingo sweepers, 21 to be precise.
“Innovation inside” is the theme of the Schmidt
Swingo 200+ compact sweeper. The patent-pending combination of the pressurised water recirculation system and the Koanda air circulation system, which will be presented at the IFAT 2016 for the first time, reduces the emission of harmful particulate matter by up to 95% and makes the Swingo 200+ the most environmentally friendly compact sweeper on the market.
Schmidt is once again market leader with the Swingo 200+ in 2015 in the segment of compact sweepers in Germany. Schmidt clearly lead the annual ranking of registration figures published by the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt in Flensburg. Compared to last year, the market share of 39% could be even further increased.
